New Skoda Kodiaq launch tomorrow: Here’s what to expect

Skoda Auto India is all set to launch the new 2025 next-generation Skoda Kodiaq SUV in the Indian market tomorrow i.e, April 17, 2025. The new Kodiaq was first showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo and features a fresh new design, improved dynamics, a new interior, additional features, added safety and much more. Its expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian, Hyundai Tucson and Nissan X-Trail in the Indian market.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq

The new Skoda Kodiaq will be offered in two variants – Sport Line and L&K. It will be offered in seven seven-seat layout only. The new Kodiaq is based on Škoda’s new design language and the SUV is longer and lower. The SUV has grown by 61mm from 4.69-metres to 4.75-metres but the wheelbase and width remain same at 2.71-metres and 1.8-metres respectively. The SUV gets a sculpted bonnet with a newly designed hexagonal Skoda grille. It also gets a revised Skoda logo finished in Matt dark chrome. The SUV now features sleek split matrix LED headlights with connecting LED strips.

Below it gets wide air intakes with a skid plate. Skoda claims the drag Coefficient of the new Kodiaq has been reduced to cd = 0.282. It also gets newly designed alloy wheels measuring 18 inches on both Sportline and L&K variants. At the rear, it gets a re-designed tailgate and bumper with an extended roof spoiler. It also gets a redesigned rear apron with an integrated diffuser and the D-pillar gets a dark chrome finish.
The SUV features a newly designed dashboard layout with a big free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with small rotary dials below with a small screen embedded inside. It also gets vertically stacked vents with more use of leatherette upholstery. Skoda says that the upholstery is made entirely out of recycled polyester.

In terms of features, the Kodiaq gets a 13.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster with a HUD display, 15W wireless smartphone charging with active cooling, unique LED ambient light strip placements and umbrella storage at the front doors. Other features include connected car tech, an in-built navigation system, a premium sound system, a performance-oriented features display, a power delivery display and an off-road information display.

Mechanically, it remains the same as before. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engine with 190 PS of power and 320 nm torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels.
